Typhoon Ondoy Relief Operations
Typhoon Ondoy left heavy damage in Metro Manila, Philippines last September 27. Flooding was experienced in most of the city, especially in the eastern part of the metropolis. It has affected the cities of Marikina and Pasig, and towns in the provinces of Rizal and Laguna. Total damage to infrastructure and facilities amounted to billions of pesos. Access to many areas were not possible days after the calamity.
•Rev. Dr. Nomer Bernardino requested the Board of Deacons to prepare an emergency response to those affected by Typhoon Ondoy.
•Deacon Rachel Villanueva was appointed as the Relief Operations coordinator.
•The leadership of the church through the Board of Deacons immediately organized a disaster response team as the support started coming in from among the members and other supporters. Volunteer workers were mobilized to help in the relief activities.
•The BreadCom immediately responded to the challenge as information were passed on through text messages about members who were affected by the typhoon.
•The following Sunday, it was gathered that approximately 300 members were affected by the floods brought about by the typhoon.
•These included members attending in Shangri-la, and daughter churches in Pasig and Marikina.

•Distribution of relief goods initially to members but later with other members of the community.
